How to get there

Rue du village de vacances 13, 5670 Viroinval

Route

We love this holiday village in the middle of the woods, in the Viroin-Hermeton nature reserve. You can sleep in the middle of the woods and, whether you’re in a chalet or a cube, enjoy absolute calm and greenery. And that’s a good thing.

The comfort of a chalet and a car park in the heart of nature

The setting is surprising: a site of more than 12 hectares of forest, which is typical of the region. The 50 bungalows are spread throughout the woods, with a nice amount of space between them.

The houses can be reached by car. Once you arrive, you feel calm. A number of walks start at the foot of the chalets. Alternatively, cars and bikes are crucial for reaching the village of Oignies two kilometres away.

A bit like Centre Parc or Sunpark

But different. In this case, we’re talking about watching wild animals as entertainment. You’ll have the chance to see a wild boar or a deer. If you’re not so lucky, you’ll still have the chance to enjoy the animals in the small park in the heart of the holiday village.

There is also a ping-pong table, a badminton and volleyball court and a playground in the common area.

Hikes on the itinerary

When it comes to marked trails, a map of the available walks can be found at reception. Amazing walks for all levels of experience are on the itinerary.

The region is crossed by the GR125, a route that is famous among sports enthusiasts, with very different views marked by meadows and wooded expanses. Alternate routes take you to the Roche à Lomme viewpoint, or along the Ry de Rome Dam and are sure to enchant.

What’s nice about these walks is that the landscape changes with the seasons: nature offers new pleasures every time, such as the first birdsong in spring, blueberries in summer, mushrooms in autumn and, on occasion, snow in winter. In this case, take advantage of the local ski slopes.

Close to a variety of activities

In addition to walks, the holiday village is quite conveniently located. It also has easy access to certain museums, such as the Railway Museum or the Toine Culot museum in Treignes.

You can also enjoy other sports activities, with kayaking on the Viroin or all-terrain scooters or mountain-boarding (a mixture of snowboarding and skateboarding) at the Wanyi Downhill Park, on a former ski slope right beside the holiday village.
